HOW TO MAKE A BIRYANI

 To make biryani, you will need:

  • Rice
  • Meat (chicken, beef, lamb, or prawn)
  • Spices (such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, cardamom, cinnamon, and bay leaves)
  • Onion
  • Ginger and garlic
  • Tomato
  • Yogurt
  • Saffron (optional)
  • Ghee or oil
  • Water

Here's how to make biryani:

  1. Rinse and soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large pot, heat ghee or oil and add sliced onions. Fry until golden brown.
  3. Add minced ginger and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the meat and cook until browned.
  5. Add diced tomatoes and cook until soft.
  6. Stir in the yogurt and mix well.
  7. Drain the rice and add it to the pot with the meat mixture. Stir to combine.
  8. Add saffron (if using) and enough water to cover the rice by 1 inch.
  9. Cover the pot and cook over low heat until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed, about 20-25 minutes.
  10. Let the biryani rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
